Richard passed to the afterlife at the age of 76, far too young to say goodbye. He was proceeded in death by his parents Adam & Mary Plasket, his sister, Connie Howell, his brother Bruce Plasket and his beloved wife, Dr. Carol Mueller.
Born in Salem, Ohio, and raised in Youngstown, Richard’s passion for sports was evident early on. He excelled in football, basketball, but especially in track. Richard attended McMurry College in Abilene, Texas, before finishing his education at the University of Delaware, where he met and married the love of his life, Dr. Carol.
Richard’s professional life was spent with Kmart, where his boundless energy and love for being on the go made retail a perfect fit. His work ethic matched his active lifestyle, and he was always on the move.
After settling in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, with Carol, Richard became an integral part of the community. Known for his outgoing personality, he was the social heart of their home, hosting lively gatherings and annual poolside parties. Richard could often be found cheering on the local sports teams at neighborhood fields or passionately supporting his favorite teams: the Phillies, Eagles, and especially his beloved Delaware Hens football. As a regular season ticket holder, he relished tailgating with friends before every home game.
In retirement, Richard kept his energy high, staying active by playing golf, swimming, and attending rock concerts. He even tried his hand at acting, landing several roles in movies and TV shows. He was also known for his love of cooking, especially grilling steaks poolside. If you knew Rick, you knew prime rib was his absolute favorite.
Richard's warm, caring nature, his zest for life, and his enduring love for his family and friends will be missed by all who knew him.
A viewing will take place at Alleva Funeral Home in Paoli, PA from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a graveside ceremony at 2:00 PM at Chester Bethel Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.
