I am sorry to hear about the passing of Ryan. Sending love, thoughts, and prayers to you and your family during this tough time.

Thank you for the never ending one liners, positive and optimistic mentality and an unmatched capability to always put others first. Your impeccable character and eccentric personality always improved those around you and impacted more Marines than you could have imagined. Just your presence lit up a room. The world is a lesser place with you not in it. God bless you and your family. Until Valhalla brother.

You were THE most fun guy to be around. I loved nothing more than spending time with you. From running around Avalon together, to hanging on the MoBeard turf, to going to Pingry prom with you and your buddies. Never a dull moment. I was laughing so hard this morning reading through our old Facebook conversations about stupid group projects and how upset we were about a schedule change at school…that involved an extra 35 minute lab…School was not our thing.

Not only were you a joy to be around, but you were an inspiration to those around you. Beyond being a stand up guy, you were a real life hero. Someone so many of us looked up to. Thank you for your commitment to our country and to keeping us safe. It was a privilege to follow your journey through the Marines. I’ve told you this before, but I’ll say it again. I am so proud of you. 

I’ll leave you with my favorite quote, as I’m sure you remember this from a book we read in one of our classes. “Time is a gift, given to you, given to give you the time you need, the time you need to have the time of your life. ” Thank you for sharing your precious time on this earth with us, Ryan. You will be missed dearly. 

I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Ryan. He exemplified what it means to be a great teammate and a model player to coach. He was loved and respected by his coaches and teammates, he will always be remembered in that way.  He remains in our hearts and minds and always in our Crimson Baseball Family #22.

Ryan was the best and so loving. I used to cut through the woods to get to your house.. sometimes at night which made me paranoid but Ryan was never afraid.  The Casey’s always made me feel at home. From hundreds of Lenny’s pizza pies, air soft in the backyard (Ryan would challenge us all to take him and we could never win - we all surrendered), the best bday party I ever went to (paint ball / warfare at castle in PA   Ryan again was the champion), sledding, paddle , bayne park, and hanging in your bedroom watch office talking about girls of course. My sincerest condolences to your family. I was Ryan’s advisor at Morristown Beard School. He was the sweet, funny and likable kid that every teacher dreamed of having.  I am so sorry he left this world so young.

I am so unbelievably sorry for your loss. Words can not describe how kind your son and brother was. I went to Morristown Beard with Ryan and he was in my homeroom class all throughout high school. Ryan was constantly smiling and laughing. He always wanted to know how you were doing and offer you advice before ever talking about himself. He always looked at you in the eyes and showed he was truly listening and cared.  I have so many memories with Ryan and I feel very blessed to have known him.

Lt Casey was very energetic, proactive, professional, and eager to learn. He stayed engaged with his Marines and had a very promising future.  His tributes were not gained by Officer Candidate School. The traits he displayed were a direct reflection of who he was as a person and professionally used them to his advantage. He had integrity and poise coupled with passion for everything he was involved in. I send my condolences to his loved ones and encourage them to remember how well he represented them through his daily interactions. Ryan’s infamous blue steel. Ryan was too special to put into words. I’m so lucky and proud to have been part of his life and I will miss him endlessly. He was so loved.  I hope he’s enjoying endless pepperoni pizza, wings and cheeseburgers in heaven.

Ryan had really started to reach his full potential as an officer. 

1st plt leaders lead by none other then Lt Casey. After a FEX for 1/24 in 2021 after him and I lead the longest non combat convoy in  unit history. 

1st Lieutenant Casey was my Motor Transportation Officer while in Fort Leonard Wood. He was launched from job to job within our detachment, each with its own entirely unique set of challenges and responsibilities. Without missing even a single step, he took them on, and not only met the standard, but reset it. But more important than his unmatched work ethic, 1st Lieutenant Casey was loved by all of his Marines. He had the genuine concern for each and every one of us. There were times when we would be standing a long post overnight, and no matter where the conversation went, we looked at me like it was the most important thing I had ever said. He had every conversation with the intention to learn. No matter what, 1st Lieutenant Casey was the best MTO I have ever had. He is also the first officer I have ever had the privilege of calling my friend. He will be severely missed. 

Awesome Marine Officer but more importantly an amazing man. You will be missed brother, and I will have a pot of coffee brewed waiting for you.

As the Executive Officer I have to submit a “Storyboard” to Regiment after each drill weekend. During December’s drill 1st Lt Casey made it a competition amongst the other Company Lieutenants. 

I first met Ryan during a two week training exercise. When we met, he was coming off of a convoy - with all his equipment and still in all his gear. He pulled me to the side to talk, to get to know each other. He immediately started giving me tips on how to be the best Marine I could possibly be. His character is one that wants to help those around even within one minute of meeting him. Within that first minute, I knew I loved him as a brother and that he’d be someone to look up to. He was a funny, loving caring person whose presence would light up any room. Your love inspires us all and we are honored that you were in our lives. We keep you in our hearts and your spirit drives us. You’re a great Marine and an even better friend. Love you Ryan❤️
