Wayne C. Chalmers

Wayne C. Chalmers of Wayne, Pennsylvania, born July 7, 1940, entered his eternal rest on Sunday, November 12, 2017. Wayne was the son of Anna Cadwell Chalmers and James Chalmers. Beloved father to daughters Lisa Chalmers and Allison Chalmers Zerpa, and son Scott Chalmers (deceased), Wayne is survived by his grand-daughter Emma Zerpa, his sons-in-law William L. Myers, Jr. and Marcos Zerpa, sisters Heather Chalmers (Jeffrey Warden), Sheila Porter and Carol Lyons, his nephew Mark Lyons, nieces Anna Cohen (Barry Cohen, D.M.D.), Samantha Wivell (Don Wivell), grand-nieces Haylee Cohen, Jade Cohen, and Grace Wivell, and grand-nephews Jake Cohen and Ben Wivell.

Wayne was born in Philadelphia and attended Springfield High-School in Montgomery County, PA, where he competed in weight-lifting. As boy, he caddied at Sunnybrook Golf Club, where he learned to love the game. Wayne was captain of his college golf team, became a scratch golfer, competed in club tournaments, and remained an avid player and fan throughout his life.

Wayne attended Gettysburg College, where he was president of his fraternity, Kappa Delta Rho. After graduating, he started his career as a computer programmer at Girard Bank, and retired from ADP and went on to do consulting work.

Wayne was a fisherman, and he loved the beach and enjoyed spending time with his family in Avalon.

A kind and gentle man with a great sense of humor and a love for children and animals, Wayne will be missed by everyone who knew him.
