Pat:Linda and I will remember Berry (as I knew him growing up) as a kind and gentle person. He surely found the right partner in you.  Many thoughts arise at a time like this including the words from a sonnet that "summer's lease hath all too short a date ..."  I became acquainted with death at the young age of 12 so I can say, as did Thomas Jefferson once, "I know well, and feel what you have lost, what you have suffered, are suffering, and have yet to endure. The same trials have taught me that for ills so immeasurable, time and silence are the only medicine... the term is not very distant, at which we are to ... ascend in essence to an ecstatic meeting with the friends we have loved and lost, and whom we shall still love and never lose again. Bill may God welcome you into Heaven with Him and may He bless your family and keep them close to Him. We will miss you but know that you have earned the rest and Peace God has given to you.

"Berry" When I saw  your obituary in yesterday's Inquirer, my jaw dropped. I was so happy when you and  Pat came to our 50th Class reunion and then met with several of our classmates for breakfast a year later.( Sue Sigmund, George O'Connell, Henry Donner and myself.) We talked about our high school days where we had so much fun and drove many of the teachers "crazy"
You were a good friend and every body liked you.We attended high school at a wonderful time. And, if we got out of hand Mr.Lehman would put us back on track.
And, to you Pat, you had such strength and I was happy  to meet you and talk to you on the phone several times.You were a courageous wife.
Berry, thank you for serving our country during the Vietnam war. You were courageous in battle and battling your disease.
I have lost a good friend! Look at the smile in the picture!

Berry and I were first cousins born only two weeks apart. I was older, but always referred to me as the 'younger' cousin. This always made him laugh, and he was quick to say 'older, older.' His beautiful smile will always remain with me.

I remember trout fishing on opening day and sitting together on the school bus. Miss you Berry.

So sorry to hear of Bill's death.  He was a courageous, determined man, who fought a very difficult battle with MS.  I am proud to have known him and my thoughts and prayers are with Pat and her family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bill.  What a sweet and gentle man he was...!!  I remember how he loved taking care of you, after he retired - and you still worked.  Then, you took such amazing care of him until the end.  My heart goes out to you Pat.  Your in my thoughts and prayers.
