Born on July 6, 1950, in Fargo, North Dakota, Deb grew up in the welcoming community of Baudette, Minnesota, where she developed her meticulous nature and strong convictions. She graduated from St. Cloud State in St. Cloud, Minnesota, a testament to her dedication and strength.
Deb's career began in the nurturing environment of an elementary school in Rush City, Minnesota, where she taught with care and attention. Her passion for education extended into her home, where she home-schooled her son Mike for two years. As a homemaker, Deb created a loving and supportive environment for her family.
In February 1976, Deb married John Fabry, and together they built a beautiful family. They welcomed their son Michael in April 1986, and their family expanded with the addition of their daughter-in-law Nakayla in May 2014. Deb cherished her grandchildren, Madison, Mckenna, and Morgan, who were a source of immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her sister, Cynthia Brient.
Deb's personal interests were as varied as they were enriching. She loved gardening, quilting, baking, cooking, and sewing, and was an active participant in bible study at Wellspring Church. Her community involvement was deeply rooted in her faith, as she provided flowers for the altar at church every week and played the piano for services. As a member of the Papillion Garden Club, she shared her love of nature with others.
Deb faced life's challenges head-on, displaying emotional courage, especially during her battle with cancer. Her bravery and gentle free spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. She was an amazing lady, sweet and kind, a brave warrior with a beautiful soul. Her religious convictions were deeply rooted in her belief that Jesus Christ was her savior.
Expressions of gratitude are extended to the doctors at Bergan Mercy Hospital Cancer Center, the Nebraska Cancer Specialists, and the nursing staff at St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Deb will be remembered not only for her strength and courage but also for the love and kindness she shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy as a gentle, caring, and strong individual will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
