Mrs. Young was one of my English teachers in middle school and one of the best teachers I have ever had. I am currently in education academy in high school aspiring to be a teacher because of her. She has made a great impact on me as well as many other students. She always had a bright smile and a cheerful attitude that could light up any room. As well as an educator, she was also a great family friend of mine. My mom had taught with her at Walnut Creek Elementary years ago, and has always continued to talk about how much of a kind and bubbly soul she is. Although she has passed on to a better place, I know Mrs. Young will be there with me the day I walk across the stage and accept my diploma and the day I teach my first class. She is and forever will be an inspiration to me, my family, and many more students. Thank you Mrs. Young.

Debbie was loved by everyone who met her. She will be missed as the rest of us go through this earthly journey. We will join her someday in heaven. Enjoy your whole body in heaven, Debbie.

A, what a wonderful tribute you spoke of your mom and the love that she taught u. She truly poured out so much love to everyone that crossed her path. She was just that person ? The strength she had surpassed anyone I've ever known.
The love, strength and joy she radiated to others will be greatly missed by so many lives she touched. I can't imagine your pain and your family right now and the days to come. But, I do know that she will forever be you and your families angel above and the legacy she left will never be forgotten. I'm so very sorry and praying that God will grant you and your family some peace, comfort and strength in the years to come without her.  Just know that her generous spirit will live on through the lives she touched and taught.

My sympathies, thoughts, and prayers are with you today as you lay Debbie to rest.  I am just getting over the flu , or I would have been there.  
Debbie was truly one of the sweetest women I’ve ever known.  She was always so full of life, energy, positivity and smiles for everyone!  It was a real pleasure to have been able to work with her at Walnut Creek and to get to know her through the years.  It was an added bonus that are girls were schoolmates and friends!  Debbie will be sorely missed!  
May God wrap you in his comfort today and through the days, months and years ahead.  May you take comfort in knowing that Debbie was loved by all those her life touched!  I know that God has greeted her with “ Well done, my faithful servant!”

My sincere condolences to the family. Deb taught my son Alex at Walnut Creek and we just loved her. She was so amazing as a teacher. Any and every time I saw her around town she always remembered us always. Alex went on to become a teacher too. I ran into her as he started student teacher at Liberty where Deb was teaching too. She was so excited for him and so proud. She had the most incredible smile and we both laughed about how strange it was for her to run into her students now teaching and she had them as first graders. She was truly an inspiration and will be sadly missed by many. Rest In Peace Deb!

Mrs young always had a smile whenever I saw her at the store she was never afraid to stop & have a chat she will  be missed gone but never forgotten 

I was so sorry to read Deb’s obituary in this morning’s newspaper. I knew her when I was a Paraprofessional at Patriot Elementary in Papillion and she taught there. She was always so enthusiastic with her megawatt smile. 

I later bumped into her at the “Y” where she would swim laps before heading off to work. She talked about one of her kids getting married and about her hip replacement.  She never complained and was always so upbeat & positive. I was not able to keep in touch with her this past year and was unaware of her battle with cancer. She will be sorely missed and she taught me to stay humble, not complain, and to just keep smiling & swimming. She was a blow-torch of joy to anyone she came in contact with. Will miss you, Ms Young.

I taught side by side for four years with Deb at Patriot Elementary.  She was an inspiration to her students, but also to the staff.  Her heart was her home, her husband (so proud of his awards), her kids, Wrigley, and later her grandkids.  She was one of a kind and will be so missed.  Condolences.  

Bob, Steve and the Entire Moore/Young Family

It is difficult for me to put into words my feelings.  In my heart I know Debra and Elaine are united once again.  What a joyful thought.  However I know from my recent experience what emotions Bob feels for Elaine and Steve will feel for Debra.  As a four decade member of First Lutheran Church I look forward to that day we will all be together again where there is no pain and no grief.  God's Blessings. 

As a long time family friend and just blessed to know Debbie and watching her and Steve’s family grow, the heartache and grief is heavy right now.  Also knowing the strong faith of all and the promise of our Lord, we pray for peace and comfort for those so affected by her passing.  Prayers for all of Debbie’s family and friends.

Dear Steve and Family,

My heart aches for all of you today.  I wish for each of you an abundance of grace and the peace of loving memories. I know grace may take time, but loving memories will always be present.

I admit my recollections of Debbie are trapped mostly in the memory of my youth.  But I do know the things she most often showed me, and that I loved most about her, were her overwhelming kindess, gentle unselfishness, instant wit and timeless humor.  I pray these transcend time and space for you and remain forever.

First of all,  comfort and strength to the Young family during this tremendous loss. 
I was blessed by knowing Debbie for most of my life.  From Sunday school  and confirmation classes to Jr. high and graduation from Papio  High.  She was a fabulous co worker at S.C.S.O. until she found her true  calling in education.
It gives me great solace knowing a piece of Debbie lives on in the hundreds of young lives that she touched.
Please watch over all of us until we meet again in Our Fathers Kingdom.
 

A beautiful light has been dimmed.  I feel so blessed to have known Debbie.  Steve, you are in my thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time.  

They say that "To teach is to touch a life"...
And I know this to be true, bc Mrs. Young touched the lives of two of my Grand Kids that were in her classes.....and in so many more ways than just a curriculum.  
And for the rest of us...and for me...her FB Posts throughout her illness, were always positive, loving and upbeat.  So very inspiring for anyone reading them...

Debbie and I were good friends in high school, and we graduated together.  At the last reunion, we talked briefly and were going to get our family's together to just have a coke or a glass of tea and talk.  I will admit that my illness has gotten the best of me, and I could not even stay for most of the reunion.  I thought a great deal of Debbie, and she always spoke highly of her children and her husband's accomplishments when I saw her or saw her online posts.  She was obviously a Christian, and I know God was waiting for her at the Pearly Gates.  No worries, Steve, she will be waiting for you when the time comes.  God Bless the entire family during this tremendous time of loss.  From the Kendricks, we extend our deepest condolences.
