Dee Ann (Dishman) Linse, 85, born on June 27, 1939 to Dunward and Margaret Dishman, in Scottsbluff, NE. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Curtis Allen Linse and her son Brian. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Linda (Randy) Smrcina and her son Roger (Cyndi) Linse and one brother Terry Dishman (Bev). 7 grandchildren Jake (Olivia), Lindsey (Jason), Josh, Zach, Brittany (Nate), Lauren and Cassie. She also was blessed with 5 great-grandchildren Isabella, Hazel, Mille, Simpson and Scottie.
Dee attended Chadron State where she graduated with her masters degree. She did not just leave there with her degree she left with the heart of a young man they married shortly after. Dee was a stay at home mom for many years but once she began teaching there was no stopping her! She went on to teach, reach and form the minds of thousands of children for over 40 years where she was awarded many honors for her dedication and commitment to education and “her kids”. She also loved coaching volleyball and continued to follow them after her coaching days ended. Outside of her family and teaching, her great love was all things “HUSKERS”. No matter the sport she was watching or listening to she would be found wearing a HUSKERS shirt, drinking from a HUSKERS cup and if it was not in their favor you would simple hear “oh phooey”or “come on guys” followed by “I hate that team” (referring to the opposing team).
Dee was many things to many people beginning with being a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ralson for over 40 years. Her compassionate nature lead her to always be ready to help, offer a kind word or help anyone in need. If there was a new baby coming you can be assured that they would have a new blanket and or sweater set knitted for them the love and effort she put into those projects were just part of who she was. Now, let's talk about those cinnamon rolls…enough said, if you know, you know!
If you spent anytime with Dee, then you know that her family was the light of her life. But during this week her family also learned how deeply her school family impacted her and the stories have made this time a little more bearable. So please continue to share them with us and with each other. As a little bit of Mrs. Linse, Dee, mom will live on in all of us forever.
