Nov 12, 1930 - Dec. 27, 2013
83 years of Papillion
Jerry was born in Seward, Nebraska, where his parents Ken and Anna Johnson farmed until 1939. Depression era migration eventually relocated the family to Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1948 he graduated from Lincoln’s Northeast High School. Graduation from the University of Nebraska was delayed by service in the Air Force during the Korean War. In 1954 Jerry married Janiece Krueger and farmed near Seward until 1968, when he undertook his long career with the USDA’s Farmers Home Administration. After retiring from his district director position in 1992, he remained active in Papillion with The Lions Club, travel, fishing, grandchildren, cards, gardening, and an unending curiosity about how the world works. But the delight of his later years was marrying Dorrene Kunneman in 2001. He is remembered for the humor and affability of his personality by countless relatives, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances.
