

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents and sister. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Ritchey. She is also survived by daughters Julie (Steve) Moessner and Joyce (Kel) Weaver, Grandchildren Andrew (Neely) Moessner, Suzie (Beau) Carlson, John (Tina) Moessner, Jay (Lindsey) Weaver, Elise (Jesse Smith) Weaver, And 11 Great- Great Grandchildren.
Gwen was born in Lincoln. She was born to Katheleen and George Eppens. When she was 2 years old her father George was killed in an accident. Gwen and her mother then moved in with her grandparents. At age 5, Katheleen met serviceman Anthony Lass at the USO . They were married and moved to Madison Wisconsin where Tony was assigned to the Airforce base there. Once Tony was shipped overseas to Italy, Gwen and her mother moved back to Lincoln to be near family. Gwen went to Lincoln Northeast High School. Gwen met the love of her life, John Ritchey, at East Lincoln Christian Church and were married in 1956. Gwen and John were founding members of Crestwood Christian Church of Lincoln. In 1992 they moved to Omaha where their daughters and families live. During her life, Gwen worked at First National Bank of Lincoln, for Lincoln Public Schools and for Rivers Advertising. She and John also owned RICHCO Hardware in Omaha. She volunteered for meals on wheels and Back to the Bible in Lincoln and loved reading, knitting prayer shawls for hurting people, mentoring, her family and Jesus!
She colored every part of our lives and we will miss her dearly.
There will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE Friday, November 18 at 11:00 am at Citylight Church - West with VISITATION one hour prior.
