Hope Esther Smith entered this world on August 1, 2008 in Shreveport, Louisiana and her feisty spirit was immediately evident. She came home and was greeted by big brother Ethan with kisses and later became a big sister when her younger brother Zach joined the family. And because the siblings were so close in age, they forged a friendship that continued to grow through the years. They were always close, and it was evident of how much they all loved each other.
In addition to being feisty, she was creative, loud (in the best way) perceptive, tenacious, energetic, generous and full of life. She loved writing, art, music and recently developed a love for psychology, which she talked about pursuing once she completed high school. Besides the joy of her brothers and family, she had a special love for her dog, Maizie, who she would take on walks and spend countless hours cuddling.
Though she had her struggles, we know she put her trust in Christ, and we are grateful she is at peace now in heaven with her Savior. One of her favorite verses was Psalm 4:1, “Answer me when I call to you my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.”
She is survived by her mom, Camey Smith; dad and stepmom, Mike and Tara Smith; brothers, Ethan and Zach Smith. She is also survived by her grandparents: Sue Smith, Debbie and Mike Hutchinson, William and Julie Moley and step grandparents Tom and Jan Koth. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Don Smith.
