Born June 23, 1965, and raised in Omaha, Jake was known for being steadfast—a loyal, tender-hearted protector and a steady presence to those who depended on him.
Jake loved his family with a steady, devoted kind of love—one that showed up again and again. He loved Renee deeply and was proud of Spencer and Henry, and as a protective provider, he made home feel safe.
Jake served his country with honor as an Army Infantryman, including service in Germany during the Cold War and later during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His bravery marked his military service, and that same strength and steadiness shaped the way he lived and cared for others.
Following his military service, Jake worked as a Manufacturing Engineer, bringing diligence, skill, and creativity to his work.
Jake lived with a rare blend of grit and artistry. He enjoyed Kung Fu, woodworking, skydiving, fencing, and fishing. He was also an artist and poet, and many will remember him as someone who loved making things for others. He admired John Wayne, and those who knew him best saw in Jake a similar quiet strength and resolve.
Most of all, Jake was a faithful follower of Jesus. He served as a Deacon at First City Church, living out his faith through humble leadership, steady service, and protective love for his church family and community.
Jake is survived by his wife, Renee White (Larsen), and their sons, Spencer White and Henry White. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary White and Karol White, and his brother, Michael White. He is also survived by his sister, Janet White Blankenship (husband Mike Blankenship), and his brother, Richard White (wife Jamie Beran), as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
