Norma's early life was marked by her education in various grade schools in Missouri, culminating in her graduation from Omaha Tech High School. A lifelong learner, she pursued classes in furniture refinishing, flower arranging, and upholstery throughout her life.
Her career began at Bell Telephone and included roles at King's restaurant and Brandeis Distribution Center in the china buyer's department. Norma dedicated many years to being a devoted wife and mother. Her final career was in customer service at Omni Hotel reservations, where she excelled in sales and received multiple top sales awards, resulting in numerous travel experiences with her husband.
On May 17, 1957, Norma married Paul Carr in Omaha. Together, they had two children, Leslie and Crystal, and remained in the Omaha area until moving to Greenwood in 1970. After retirement, they sought adventure in Wyoming, exploring local scenery and wildlife with their three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Norma's final years were spent back in the Omaha area, cherishing her 68-year marriage to Paul.
Norma had a lifelong passion for hunting antiques, frequenting auctions and estate sales to acquire notable treasures. Her love for antiques was second only to her roles as a wife and mother. Her community involvement included a lifetime association with the church where she and Paul met as teenagers, which remained a source of love and spiritual connection for her.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Bessie Beason and her sister Nancy Reiff. Norma will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, nurturing mother, and accepting friend. Her love for music and her joy in visiting and laughing with others were lifelong pleasures.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hillcrest Hospice and the dedicated caregivers who surrounded Norma with love and support during her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Norma’s honor may be made to Hillcrest Hospice.
Norma now resides in harmony with her kindred angels. Her love for family and friends, along with memories of her sweet, abiding nature, will always bring comfort and a smile as she is remembered.
