Rosamunde Hempel

Rose, Mom, or Oma, she answered to all. Dad always called her Mudda. Rose worked as a cook at Rose’s Lodges for years with her best friend, Rosie. She also worked in the school lunch room and cleaned houses for over 40 years, finally stopping at 80. Rose enjoyed her beautiful home on the lake. She had a green thumb and always had a clean house. She loved to cook and bake. She and Dad made so many Christmas cookies, they lasted until July. Rose Loved her cats and favorite German Shepard, Lady. She enjoyed being a Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, and was a wonderful substitute Oma to Chris and Brandon, her Great-Nephews.

Rosamunde is preceded in death by her Loving Husband, Gunther Hempel; Parents, Joseph and Caroline Averdung; Sister, Margaret Altemuehle.

She is survived by her Children, Hannelore Marie Plisek (Jerry Kroeker), Gary Lee (Kathy) Hempel, Linda Louise Hempel (Brad Kustka), William Joseph “Billy” (Cindy) Hempel; Grandchildren, Jennifer Michelle Thiemann (Jesse), Melanie Renee Plisek, Micheala Patricia Gardner, Austin Lee Hempel, Marissa Rose Klein, Vanessa Marie Klein, Jaedyn Claire Klein, Kaleb Zachary Hempel, Keagan James Hempel; Great-Grandchildren Brett Michael Thiemann, Tatum Reese Thiemann, Farrin Delaney Thiemann, Tanner Lee Gardner, Conner Dale Gardner, Logan James Gardner, Breckin Lee Hempel; Nieces, Gabriele (Altemuehle) Schwarz, Claudia (Altemuehle) Ammelburger; Great-Nephews, Christopher Schwarz, Brandon Schwarz.

A Celebration of Life and gathering with friends will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM all at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary.
