

Ruth Ellen Heikkinen, 48, loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, and Granddaughter, passed into the loving arms of our Lord after a courageous 8 month battle with metastatic breast cancer, surrounded by her family and friends on November 28, 2014. She resided in Papillion, NE with her husband, Scott Pearson, and two children, Gillian, 14, and Tyler, 7. Ruth holds a Bachelor’s of Political Science degree and Masters of Public Management with an Environmental emphasis from the University of Maryland. She began her career at the EPA in Washington D.C but spent the past 12 years as a Project Planner for the Midwest Region of the National Parks Service, a job which she totally loved. Her father, Norman John Heikkinen of Inverness, FL, preceded her in death. Her survivors include her mother, Judyth Oliver Heikkinen, Inverness, FL, sister KarenBeth Bohan and her husband, Jeff, Danville, PA, brother John Heikkinen and his wife Jodi, Leola, PA, brother Thomas Heikkinen and wife, Pei-Pei, Madison, WI, and sister, Marcia Taylor and husband, Andrew, Severa Park, MD. In addition she leaves behind a grandmother of 100 years old, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins along with an amazing circle of friends. Visitation Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 4-8 PM with famly receiving friends 6-8 PM at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary, Papillion, NE. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 2:00 PM at Countryside Community Church, 8787 Pacific Street, Omaha, NE.
