Shirley Ann Risk was born and raised in Omaha, NE and was the daughter of Harry Gross and Zoe Caudill. She graduated from North High School. Later in life she received her Bachelors Degree in Business and then went on to get her Masters Degree in Business Education. After working for many years as a business manager, she worked as a realtor for NP Dodge as she pursued her education. She taught part time in business education at Metro Community College and later worked as a Senior Center Manager for Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging where the seniors fell in love with her and her very special servant’s heart.
Shirley was married to her husband and best friend, Curt, for 53 years. He was by her side until the moment she left to be with the Lord. A member of First Lutheran Church, she attended weekly until she was no longer able. Just a few of her hobbies included being a private pilot where she got her teaching and license through her husband Curt, an FAA flight instructor and spending time at the 99’s Flying Association which was where she established many lasting friendships. Shirley loved boating, snow and water skiing, spending time with and traveling with many special groups of friends. Reading mystery books was one of her favorite things to do. Her time of daily devotions and bible reading was how she started every day. She loved the Lord and loved spending her time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
This very special lady loved with her whole heart and will be so greatly missed by all of us who were blessed to have her in our lives. She has left for all of us a legacy of a life well lived in Christ.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Gross and Zoe Caudill; grandson, Shea Allen Wolfe.
