

Bernice Estelle Fryar, 87, of Paris, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at The Home Place in Paris with her family by her side. Services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, one hour prior to service time. Bernice was born September 10, 1927, in Bagwell to Charles Parks and Pearl Ferguson Parks. She married Jack R. Fryar and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1991. Bernice was a homemaker while her husband, Jack worked as a chemist and engineer in the oil and gas industry. Her interests included her family, gardening, sewing, dancing and reading. She loved animals. Bernice devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother and her husband. Surviving her are two sons, Wayne Fryar & wife Linda and Roger Fryar & wife Janet; her grandchildren, Stephanie Ellington, Becky Hayes, Mike Fryar, Stephen Fryar and Barbara Schwerin; five great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Honorary casket bearers will be D. Betenbough, Mike Fryar, Stephen Fryar, Aubrey Ellington and Richard Garrison. In lieu of usual floral memorials, Bernice’s family requested memorial donations be made to The Lamar County Humane Association, 310 Clement Rd., P.O. Box 8, Paris, Texas 75460.
