

Coby Ray Whitaker, 23, of Azle, left his temporary home for his eternal home in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, in a single motor vehicle accident in Ft. Worth in his beloved Linda, his Toyota Tundra. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Smith & Pastor Danny Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Candle Light Vigil was held on Sunday night, Jan. 1st, on the fifty yard line of the football field at the Azle High School Football Stadium. He graduated from Azle High Scholl in 2011. He never met a stranger, had an infectious smile, and a twinkle in his eye. Coby leaves behind to grieve his loss his sixteen month old daughter, Haelyn Rae Whitaker & her mother, Kristin Boyd of Azle, his mother, Shamane Kinsey & husband Mike of Springtown, his father, Sean Whitaker & wife Kimberly of Ft. Worth, his big sister, Malorie Baker & husband Terry, nephew, Trey and two day old niece, Ceelee-Rae Baker all of Azle, step-sisters, Kaitlin Kinsey Reagan & T. J. Wood, Brittney Burross & wife Abby, two step-brothers, Justin Fitzgerald & wife Shelby, and Caleb Burross, maternal grandmother, “NeeNee” Dinah Border of Paris, paternal grandfather, Mel Whitaker & wife Ellen of Paris, his best friends, Justin Casey, Cody Casey & wife Katy and their children, Landon, Lane & Corbyn along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and a plethora of friends. Coby was preceded in death by his Granny, Shirley Jones, Paw, Gary Border, great grandparents, Ray & Johnnie Border and Alfred & Gladys Melton and a step-brother, Jacob Fitzgerald. Coby had three women in his life, Haelyn, Kristin and Linda, his jacked-up Toyota Tundra. He loved all three with all his heart. He could be found either on a lake fishing, duck hunting or in the woods deer hunting. Coby loved going to auctions and should have had his hands tied behind his back. He loved fireworks, buying them and blowing them up. Rodeo became a part of Coby’s life around the age of four, starting with mutton busting and ending with the North Texas High School Rodeo team from Azle I. S. D., where he won All Around Cowboy his sophomore year ’08-’09. He was a member of F.P.B.R.A. where he won six trophy buckles in the ’04-’05 bull riding finals. He always brought a check home. Casket bearers will be: Cody Casey, Justin Casey, John Slagle, Bill Slagle, Michael Keele, Randy Wilson, Colton Wilson, and John Ramos. Honorary bearers will be: Nate Aguilar, Dakota Embry, Gabriel Alvarez, Mark Tompkins, Danny Malone, Koda Moore, Joel Soto, Jimmy Madden, Allen Harper and Reese Richards.
