

David C. Morrison, Staff Sgt. U. S. Army (ret.), 72, of Honey Grove, passed away Tuesday, February 03, 2015, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Staff Sgt. Morrison will be honored with full military rites. Mr. Morrison, the son of Herbert & Mary Alice Morrison, was born March 19, 1942, in Blossom. His military career spanned thirty-six years. Ten years in active duty with the U. S. Army and twenty-six years with the National Guard before his retirement. His career with E-Systems (now L 3) in Greenville spanned twenty-five years before he retired there also. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jimmy Massey and two brothers, Jimmy Don Morrison and Alvin Morrison. Survivors include his wife, Helen Massey Morrison, whom he married in 1979, seven children, Gregory Morrison & wife Margie of Powderly, Tracy Morrison of Paris, Andy Paul Morrison of Oklahoma, Eddie Massey & wife Patricia of Paris, Kenneth Massey & wife Linda of Honey Grove, Edward Massey & wife Lara of Bells and Teresa Zook & husband Steven of Melissa, twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, three brothers, Shelly Morrison & wife Jan of Blossom, Clay Morrison & wife Dorlynn of Paris and Ray Morrison & wife Deb of Paris along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
