Donald Hugh “Cotton, Parks, 78, of Blossom, passed away Monday, October 27, 2014. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Knights of Honor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. During other times the family will be at the Greg Parks home, 11904 FM 1502. Donald, the son of Tommy & Willie Rosson Parks, was born May 18, 1936, in Lamar County. He graduated from Blossom High School. His career as a steel worker placing duct work in Dallas & Ft. Worth spanned more than thirty years. Donald was proud to be a union member. He enjoyed watching his cattle and gardening. His parents and two brothers, James Parks & Theron Parks, preceded him in death. Survivors include two nephews, Brett Parks & wife Hannah and Brian Parks all of Longview along with numerous cousins and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: John Crowder, Johnny Johnson, Marvin Parks, Steve Sessums, Tim Parks and Mike Meringer.
