

J C Armstrong, 71, of Paris, passed Sunday, June 19, 2016, at his home. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23rd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. David Robinson leading the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. J C, the son of John Robert & Myrtle Viola Annett Armstrong, was born Dec. 28, 1944, in Chicota. He graduated from West Lamar High School. His career at B & W spanned 34 years before his retirement. During those years at B & W he was a participating member of the Boiler Makers Union. J C was very active in baseball with his sons. He coached Little League Baseball with The Boys Club. He never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. J C had a plethora of friends and was known as “Dawg” by many. He enjoyed hunting and spending time at the deer camp where he was known as the “Camp Boss”. He will be remembered for always having a smile on his face. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings, Martin Armstrong, Harvey Armstrong, Robert Armstrong, Jr., Will Armstrong, Harold Armstrong, R. B. Armstrong, Robbie Huggins and Kathryn Draper. Survivors include three children, J C Armstrong, Jr. & fiancé Misty Slesnick of Paris, Mitzi Springer & husband Jerry of Sumner and Wes Armstrong of Paris, grandchildren, Ashley Conklin & husband Chris, Ryan Armstrong & wife Taylor, Derek Armstrong, Jaymi Armstrong, Ethan Armstrong, Jasey Armstrong, Vance Carpenter, Keath Carpenter, Jericka Moore & husband Casey and Chevis Springer, seven great grandchildren, three brothers, Bob Armstrong & wife Janice of Tigertown, Ed Armstrong & wife Cindy of Paris and Doug Armstrong of Faught, a sister, Doris Avery of Paris along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
