

Reba Martin Mason, 88, of Paris, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Dubuis Hospital in Paris. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Detroit Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to service time, 10:00-11:00 am. Mrs. Mason was born, January 25, 1927, in Detroit to Roscoe and Effie Hastings Martin. After World War II she married Glenn Mason on December 12, 1945 and they moved to Dallas to begin their new life together. Glenn passed away on December 23, 1983, having built over 38 years of family and memories. It was in 2001 when Reba moved back to Paris, to live. Reba liked fishing and taking care of her hummingbirds. She also enjoyed going to and taking part in the activities at Prime Time and Lamar Place in Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Herman Lee “Pepper” Martin, who was killed in Italy on March 3, 1945, while serving in the U.S. Air Force and William Weldon “Billy” Martin; a wonderful granddaddy, Jake Hastings and many more dear relatives and friends. Survivors include a son, Gerald Mason & wife Wendy of Bossier City, LA; a daughter, Sandra Kay Saunders & husband Lloyd of McKinney; two grandchildren, Brian Fortenbury & wife Jeni and Laura Fortenbury Upton & husband Cory; four great-grandchildren, Bennett, Kennedy and Reese Upton and Dylan Fortenbury along with a host of good friends.
