Virdie Lee Lindsey, 71, of Paris, passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21st, at Hopewell Cemetery with Rev. Tiny Freelen officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 -7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Lindsey, the daughter of Claude & Arlene Bivens Green, was born Sept. 23, 1943, in Paris. She attended Paris schools and worked in healthcare during her career. Virdie was instrumental in starting Family Haven here in Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Phillip Lindsey, and two sisters, Claudette & Christine. Survivors include her husband, Edward Lindsey, whom she married on April 29, 1965, building 49 years of family & memories, four children, Talonda Day, Pam Innis & husband Tom, Brent Lindsey and Marcus Lindsey all of Paris, eight grandchildren, Jerry Wayne Day, III, Blake Lindsey, Shawn Lindsey, Cordale Lindsey, Toby Lindsey, Shellie Lindsey, Charles Lindsey & William Lindsey, four great grandchildren along with several nieces & nephews. Her grandchildren will serve as casket bearers.
