Lee was born in Chewelah, WA to Rose and Clarance Zimmer on February 8, 1946. He went to school at Springdale High School. He married Joan Hamilton Zimmer on April 18, 1969 in Lewiston, ID. Shortly after they were married, Lee and Joan moved to Longview, WA where they would raise their two children. He worked as a dry kiln technician for Weyerhaeuser in Longview WA for 37 years. Lee cherished spending time with his family, whether it was working in the garden at the house, spending time at the beach, camping, or fishing. After retiring Lee and Joan spent the winters at their home in Arizona and the summers at their home in Eastern Washington. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.
Lee is preceded in death by his father Clarance Zimmer, mother Rose Zimmer, sisters Alice Carlyle and Donna Jackson, brothers Gordon Zimmer, Clarence Zimmer, and Arnold Zimmer.
Lee is survived by his wife Joan Zimmer of Quartzsite, AZ, his son and his wife James and Amy Zimmer of Bremerton, WA, and his daughter Kathryn “Zimmer” Tilleman of Havre, MT. His sisters Alvina McCord, Margo Thomas, Josephine Shaw, Martha Wright, Maxine Thompson, and Mary Jane Jordan. His grandsons James R. Zimmer, Jackson Tilleman, and Colby Tilleman, his granddaughters Mackenzie Tilleman, Kassandra Zimmer, Hannah Zimmer, and Chloe Zimmer. His sister-in-law Jean Monical and brother-in-law Larry Monical.
A celebration of life will be held on February 8, 2019 at family’s residence in Quartzsite, AZ.
