Basil was born April 9, 1935, in Parkersburg, WV, to Basil O. and Blanche (Jackson) Johnson. Basil attended grade school in Wood County and graduated in 1955 from Vincent High School in Vincent, Ohio. He was a Charter Member of The Parkersburg Chapter Order of DeMolay in 1952. He married Lucille Gault December 10, 1960 at the Lauckport Methodist Church.
He retired as a Field Mechanic from the Wood County Airport. Basil and Lucille loved camping and going for drives around the area.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucille Johnson; sister-in-law Ruby Sines; nephew John Sines of Parkersburg; nieces Susanne Hein of Va Beach, VA and Sandra Ray of Hickory North Carolina, plus several Great Nieces and Nephews
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Chaplin Joe Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Friday, at the funeral home.
