
Clarence “Steve” Stephens, 89, of Mineral Wells, WV, passed away Dec. 5, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born May 19, 1921 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late David A. and Cora Boggs Stephens. He was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines and retired from Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Aronhalt Stephens; one son, Daniel Reynolds of Washington, WV; two daughters, Shelby Reno of Oviedo, FL, and Dianne Cabral of Parkersburg; 13 grandchildren, Louis Collins of Hull, MA, Robert Collins of Orlando, FL, Mark Reno of Marshfield, MA, Andrea McNamee of Oviedo, FL, Lee Reynolds, Jr. and Debbie Reynolds, both of Wenatchee, WA, Brenda Reynolds of Boulder, CO, James Reynolds of Washington, WV, Tracy Moore of Parkersburg, Molly Curry of Washington, Lora Steele of Waverly, WV, Ron Berry of Winthrop, MA and Scott Berry of W. Roxbury, MA; 27 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Withee Stephens; one son, Lee Reynolds; three brothers, Ernie Stephens, Walter “Doc” Stephens, and David Stephens; and two sisters, Jessie Stephens and Virginia “Ginny” Wells.
Steve was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening, cooking, dancing and especially spending time with his extended family. He had an “itchy foot” and traveled this great country from one coast to the other. Steve always lived life to the fullest with a smile on his face and laughter in his heart. He will be sadly missed….
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor James Withee officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
