
Clyde was born December 17, 1931 in Belleville to Tony Howard and Ruth Irene {Emrick} Phillips.
Clyde was a proud United States Marine serving from 1950 to 1952.
He worked at Badger Lumber Company until 1960 then worked for Dupont until he retired in 1991 after 31 years. He attended The Ravenswood Church of Christ and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Clyde also liked to farm, hunt and go to Church.
Clyde will be deeply missed by his son, Curtis (Cheri Taylor) Phillips , daughter, Sherry Lynn Smith, both of Bellville, grandchildren, Craig (Ashley) Phillips of Lubeck, Tony (Rebecca) Phillips of Washington, Kristen (Loren Cullum) Phillips of Parkersburg, great-grandchildren, Cooper, Corbin, Cohen and Camden Phillips, Madison and Walker Jones. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Clyde’s caregivers, Angie Jett, Brenda Roberts, Kerrie Cain, Nancy Richmond and Cheri Taylor.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Delores A. Phillips and second wife, Lorena Milhoan Reed, brothers, Sam and Harold Phillips and sisters, Mary Griffen and Virginia Gorrell.
Visitation will be April 10, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Parkersburg. Funeral services will be April 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Randall Thornhill officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
