My deepest condolences to Mrs Fletchers family and friends. I was a student in 3rd grade at Rayon but of course when we were in Rayon- we all felt like family. I wish my children could have experienced a small town school with deep roots and teachers full of dedication. It hurt to see she passed on the Rayon Alumni page, but I know her life was beyond blessed and full♡

Our love, thoughts and prayers to all of the Fletcher Family.  We are so sorry we missed the obituary and visitation.  You were mentioned in prayer this morning at church and of course we knew exactly who was being lifted up.  Our deepest sympathy as we remember Connie and her sweet smile and kind spirit.  May God fill your hearts and minds with loving memories and may the peace and joy of our Risen Savior give you strength and peace in the days ahead.

I filled Connie's librarian position at Gihon after she retired. I had huge shoes to fill, and I was scared to death that I would be a disappointment to her and her coworkers. Connie never made me feel less than or unworthy to be in her library.  In fact, she made me feel like I had just walked into a fairytale. Everything was in order. A notebook with a letter of welcome, lesson plans, and notes of explanation were left in a drawer when I first arrived. She was the best resource when I needed her, and I could call her at anytime.  I loved when she would substitute at Gihon, because she would always help me shelve books in her spare time!  Sometimes she would come to school just to shelve books! She was a blessing to follow. She included me into her network as if I belonged. She taught me so much through her example and life. I definitely still feel her sweet presence in the library, and I will be forever thankful that our lives crossed in the way that they did.

The city of Parkersburg was fortunate to have a caring and dedicated teacher like Connie Fletcher, who made a huge difference in the lives of many Wood County students.     Our deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers go out to David and his family.

Connie was my first cousin. Such a joy and delight. I remember her visiting my parents Uncle Ray and Aunt Jane in Round Lake Illinois. In the 70’s. She was my inspiration to enter early childcare learning. I will never regret that decision. Children have and continue to fill my life with joy. Thank you cousin Connie. Rest In Peace .....

Mrs. Fletcher was my 3rd grade teacher at Rayon Elementary School in Parkersburg, WV. back in 1980’s. Thank you Mrs. Fletcher for being a great teacher. God Speed and prayers to the family.
