David Mellinger

David was born on November, 7, 1957 in Parkersburg, WV to the late John Frank and Alice Mae (Hitt) Mellinger.

He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1976 and Camden Clark X-ray technician school in 1978. David moved to Nashville and worked for Baptist Hospital for over 35 years. He retired in 2012 and moved back to Parkersburg to help take care of his dad.

David enjoyed baking, especially pineapple upside cake, shopping, time with families, and especially vacations. He loved going to the beach with the family, where we did a lot of thrift shopping.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Capt. RC Heckert, and many aunts and uncles.

Those left behind to cherish his loving memory are: Sheila Diane Heckert, Janet Whitehead, Eugene (Aleesa) Mellinger, Regina Fleming (Tony), many nieces and nephews, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Per David’s wishes, I need to tell you that “Dave died.” And we will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held on November 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with a half an hour visitation before at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. An online guestbook for condolences is available at www.sunsetparkersburg.com
