
She was born March 9, 1923, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late James Robert and Freda Mae Burnfield.
Betty attended North Parkersburg Baptist Church, where she had been a member for 60 plus years. She served in many ministries, which included Heavenly Helpers, choir, the Friendship Kitchen and many more. She retired from the Wood County Board of Education as cashier at Hamilton Jr. High School. She graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1943. She was a devoted Big Red. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bowling, and watching her beloved Atlanta Braves on TV.
Survivors include three sons, Buzzy, Steven (Dee), Donald (Julie), and one daughter, Marcia (Roy) McCase; eleven grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Jessica, Jeremy, Christa, Jamie, Eric, Tara, Mark, Matt, and Ryan; twenty-five great grandchildren; a sister Mary Sue Eddy, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Everett, her sister Helen Louise, and her daughter-in-law Kimberly Rae Grimm.
There will be no visitation and the funeral service will be private. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friendship Kitchen at North Parkersburg Baptist Church.
