

She was born July 25, 1921 in Wirt County to Harlan E. and Myrtle (Wilcox) Morgan.
Evelyn and her sister Carrie (Earl) Spiker moved to Wood County very early in their lives and began living with relatives. At the age of thirteen she began working at the American Viscose plant and did so until the plants closing in 1975.
Evelyn and Charles were married on November 28, 1936 and at this writing have one of the longest marriages ever recorded in the United States.
She is survived by her husband, Charles S. Morehead and two sons, David A. (Betty Jo) Morehead of Mineral Wells, West Virginia and F. Larry (Cammy) Morehead of Parkersburg, West Virginia. Evelyn is also survived by three grandchildren, Anita Morehead McKitrick of Parkersburg, Chris (Amy) Morehead of Mineral Wells and Walt Hudson-Boggs of Tampa, FL. Surviving great-grandchildren include, Autumn Morehead of Mineral Wells and Travis Bailey of Lubeck. Other great-grandchildren are Matt McKitrick of Parkersburg and Michael McKitrick of Washington, WV. There are also four great-great-grandchildren.
In closing our family sincerely thanks the many caregivers of the past five years. People such as Sharon Morehead, through her love, has allowed the family to meet our parent’s last request, namely to spend their last days in their own home.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Entombment at Sunset Memory Gardens. There will be a single service for friends and family on Thursday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m.
