She was born October 15, 1930, in Elizabeth, a daughter of the late George and Melinda (Byrd) Lemley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bert Lemley, Raymond Lemley, Clyde Lemley and one sister, Elsie Lemley.
Florence enjoyed gardening, wood working and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two daughters Beverly Thomas and her husband Camden of Elizabeth, Virginia Cottrill of Spencer; three sons, John Nelson and his wife Nancy of Walker, Roger Nelson and his wife Deloris of Elizabeth, Ricky Nelson and his wife Shannon of Pennsboro; sisters, Sylvia Bunner of Wooster, OH, Laura Gibson of Canton, OH, Ethel White of Walker, Clara Blankenship of Randolph County; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor John Larson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
