Helen Virginia Parker LaRue

Helen Virginia (Parker) LaRue, 87, of Parkersburg, died peacefully on Oct. 14, 2010 at Highland Oaks Rest Home in McConnelsville, OH.

She was born Oct. 18, 1922 in Fairview, WV, a daughter of the late Jesse and Maude Toothman Parker. She grew up in Fairview, WV and graduated from Fairview High School. She retired from the JC Penny Company in 1983 after 20 years of dedicated service, and she was an active member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ.

Her loving family, wonderful neighbors, close spiritual family at church, and family at Loving Care Assisted Living gave her a rich and happy life.

She is survived by one son, Ronald K. (Linda) LaRue; grandchildren, Colette (George) Wirth and Stephen Parker LaRue of Dallas, TX, and Meredith LaRue of Bethesda, MD; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Clare Wirth also of Dallas, TX.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit P. LaRue in 1991; son, Richard C. LaRue; four brothers; and five sisters.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with the minister Dana Slingluff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen North Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Love and Care Assisted Living.
