Howard M. Martin, 78 of Washington, WV passed away September 13, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born December 24, 1939 in Wirt County, a son of the late Robert and Marie Thompson Martin. Howard graduated from Wirt County High School where he was proud to have played on their football team. He worked several jobs through his lifetime, but his greatest achievement was working for the Boilermakers Local 667. He retired in 1998. In his retirement years, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, making fish lures and training beagles. Howard leaves behind his wife, Marjory (Rhodes) Martin, their five children, Chris and Tess Martin, Teresa Martin-Snyder, Stephanie Martin, Robert and Gleisy King and Jeff and Debra Stephenson, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Harold and Clifford and one grandson. The family would like to thank his Doctor Mahyar Tahbaz, the staff and nurses at CCMC WVU Medicine and Housecalls Hospice for the care and attention that he received. Visitation will be Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, September 17, 2018 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dobby Thrash officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
