

James Robert Parsons, 72, of Williamstown, WV entered his eternal home in heaven with his Heavenly Father, Walking on Street of Gold on Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 12:56 pm at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 11, 1945 in Kingwood, WV son of the late James K. Parsons and the late Gladys Leah McCabe Sypolt. He attended Terra Alta High School, Terra Alta, WV. He was employed most of his life as a service manager in the automotive industry. He was employed with C & C Dodge Toyota, Marietta, OH and was the top salesman at Bond’s Tailgaters, Vienna, WV. He was loved and respected by his employers, fellow co-workers and all of his customers. Jim was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Vienna, WV. It was always his desire that each one of his family members as well as anyone that he came in contact with to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Through his tough battle with cancer, he never complained and always gave God the glory and shared his faith with those along the journey. Jim is survived by his faithful, loving, and caring wife, Carolyn Bond Parsons, who never left his side for 55 years, Three loving daughters, Lisa Morrissey (Todd) of Northlake IL, Stephanie Parsons of Williamstown, WV, Robin Parsons of Williamstown, WV, Five amazing grandchildren, Bethany Kendrick (Josh) of Lombard, IL, Zachary Morris (Nancy) of Melrose Park, IL, Nathaniel Thomas of Parkersburg, WV, Gabriel Thomas of Parkersburg, WV, and Matthew Morrissey (Ami) of Seattle, WA. Seven Great Grandchildren, One brother, Jack Parsons (Edie) of Harrington , DE, Three sisters, Joan Bolyard (Jerry) of Sparks, MD, Dorthea Matheny (Samuel) of Rittman, OH, and Connie (Bill) Kendall of Newark, OH and many loving nieces & nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and his dear brother in laws who were like brothers, Clayton Bond (Sandy) of Vienna, WV and Larry Bond (Jackie) of Vienna, WV and sister in law Debra Palmer of Williamstown, WV. Honorary mention of his 2 best friends Bob Bennett and Chuck Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. SGT 1st class Archie G Parsons. The Home Going Celebration will be on Monday, July 31, 2017 @ 11:00 am at Fellowship Baptist Church, 3300 Rosemar Rd., Vienna, WV with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Parkersburg, WV with Pastors Jon Lands and Todd Morrissey officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home 1934 Dupont Rd., Parkersburg, WV and one hour prior to the service at the church.
