Jerry Lee (Thornton) Fitzwater

Jerry was born April 21, 1952 in Parkersburg, WV to Hollis Rocky and Juanita Mae {Fitzwater} Thornton.

He retired from the Roofing Union Local 242, attended The Pleasantview Baptist Church, was an avid hunter and loved racing motorcycles.

Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife of 16 years, Sandie (Shepherd), 4 sons, Shawn (Lisa) Thornton of Parkersburg, WV, William (Ruby) Thornton of Newark, OH, Jerry Jr. (Jenna) Thornton of Dayton, OH, Jeremy (Rebecca) Thornton of Newark, OH, daughters, Angie Thornton of Parkersburg, WV, Sabrina Thornton of Newark, OH, Paula Ballard and Mary Ballard of Woodland Hills, CA, brother, Norf Nelson of IN, sister, Ginger Dowler of Parkersburg, WV, nineteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, two half-sisters and one half brother.

Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Waldron officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
