Karen "MeMe" Sue Deems

Karen “Meme” Sue Deems, 72, of Washington, WV passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg. Karen was born June 6, 1944 in Spencer, WV to Oris Austin and Dureatha Hope {Travis} Walker.

Karen was a member of the 19th Street Baptist Temple. She worked for Point of View. MeMe loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandkids. She enjoyed the beach, playing cards, aggravation and bowling.

Karen will be deeply missed by her children, Mike N. Secoy of Zanesville, OH, Pat A. (Stacy) Secoy of Parkersburg, Johnna K Secoy Bourgeois (James A. Opel Jr.), Nathen R. Secoy of San Angelo, TX, Brian W. Deems of Parkersburg, Robert W. (Julie) Deems of Belpre, OH, best friend/family member Janet Parsons of Parkersburg, grandchildrenHeidi W. Secoy, Magan (Kyle) Decoy Shawger, Atalie (Brandon) Zimmerman, Kohl Secoy, Ethan Secoy, Ryan Secoy, Mackenzie Bourgeois, Kyle Bourgeois, Caitlin Secoy, Ethan Secoy, Emily Secoy, Travis Secoy, Logan Deems, Hali Deems, Christian Deems, Chelsie Deems, Dylan Deems, Hannah Deems, Matthew Deems, 5 great-grandchildren, siblings Larry N. (Barb) Travis, , Beverly Kay Patrick, Oris A. (Darlene) Walker Jr., and Michael (Jenny) Walker all of Parkersburg, brother-in-law Jim (JoAnn) Deems and sisters-in-laws Darlene (Walt) Schroder and Sandy Deems Simmons, several nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry of over 25 years.

Visitation will be Monday, June 20, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 11-12 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 12 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Dale officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
