She was born on April 5, 1932, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Russell and Clara (Hendricks) Moore.
Mabel was a well-known and much loved pre-school teacher. She showed unconditional love to all she knew.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Thompson of Parkersburg; one brother, Russell K. Moore, Jr. of Mineral Wells; one sister, Janice (Moore) Bargeloh of Mineral Wells; four grandchildren, Zachary Collins, Cody Collins, Samantha Thompson, and Jack Sheaves; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Darel "Tommy" Thompson; her daughter, Debra Lee Collins; and a sister, Mary F. (Moore) Peters.
Services will be held on 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Kevin Lantz officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.
