Nioma Jean Sargent

Nioma was born October 25, 1931 in Parkersburg to the late Oliver Aaron Givens and the late Clema “Connie” {Hendershot} Lloyd. She retired from Corning Glass, attended the Camden Avenue Church of Christ, loved horses, camping, waterdog races, traveling and taking care of her grandchildren.

Nioma will be deeply missed by her son, Carl E. “Sonny” (Jeanette) Whitehead Jr. of Belleville, daughter, Sandy Sargent of McMullen, OH, grandchildren, Justin (Amanda) Whitehead, Becky Polka, Beth Catanzarite, Aimee Horton, Mindi Crouser, great grandchildren, Brooklin Whitehead, Hailey Whitehead, Ashlin Whitehead, Kristi Whitehead, Braylin Williams, Kaylin Lee, Taylor Lee, Levi Horton, Juliette McMullen, Corey McMullen, Jake Catanzarite, Anthony Catanzarite, Jerald Catanzarite, Evan Catanzarite, Bobbi Sargent, Alea Sargent, Tina Sargent, great-great grandson, Silas Hoyler and sister, JoAnn Snyder.

Nioma was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Bud” Sargent, sons, Don and Ron Sargent, grandson, Jay Whitehead, granddaughter, Nicki McMullen, grandson, Mike Sargent and brother, Don Givens.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Funeral services will be Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Evangelist Mark Tonkery officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
