He was born January 30, 1950, in Spencer, WV a son of the late William Wright and Dollie Boggs Wright.
Bud dedicated many years of hard work to State Electric before retiring. He was a faithful member of The Journey on Park Avenue Church, where he found both community and comfort. Bud truly enjoyed the simple pleasures in life - a round of golf, fishing with the kids, and relaxing by the fire. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with those he loved, especially his dear friends Harvey Hornish and Bob Raber. Those moments of laughter, storytelling, and companionship meant the world to him. Proverbs 18:24 “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Sandy Wright; son, Jason (Tiffany) Wright; brother, Larry Wright; sister, Donna Johnson; grandchildren, Katie (Nick) Fleming, Kendall Wright, Korben (Shelby) Wright; great-grandchildren, Liam Wright, Isabella Wright and Logan Wright.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday February 27, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home.
