Theodore "Ted" Clark Copeland

Theodore “Ted” Clark Copeland, 67, of Parkersburg, died December 27, 2016 at Parkersburg Care Center. Ted was born March 16, 1949 in Parkersburg, WV to Hugh M. and Addie Marie {Vincent} Copeland. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1968. Upon graduation, Ted enlisted in the U.S. Army and served one tour in Vietnam. When Ted got off of active duty, he went to work at Public Debt where he met Sherry. They were married on June 10, 1972. Ted went on to work for the Social Security Administration where he retired from civil service. After not being able to sit still, Ted went back to work for many years at Coldwater Creek. Ted was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1212 and DAV Chapter 6 of Parkersburg. Ted enjoyed playing and coaching all kinds of sports. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees.

Ted will be deeply missed by his wife Sherry of 44 years; children, Donald “Donny” (Teri) Copeland of Cabot, AR, Kris (Tina) Copeland of South Lebanon, OH; grandchildren, Nathan, Ty and Jordan Copeland; brothers, Michael L. (Martha) Copeland of Parkersburg, William C. "Bill" (Sue) Copeland of Davisville, WV and Kenneth H. (Susan) Copeland of Navarre, FL; sisters, Linda P. (Clay) VanVoorhis of Vincent, OH, Mary Ann Copeland of Parkersburg and Penny Lou Combs of Alexandria, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Grandson Brendan Copeland.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday, December 30, 2016 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Funeral services will be Friday, December 30, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.sunsetparkersburg.com.
