Violet L. McNeill Connolly

She was born May 28th, 1937, in Marlinton, WV, a daughter of the late Dennis Reid McNeill and Gertrude Grubbs McNeill. She attended Pocahontas High School. She met and married her husband Z. Noel Connolly, Jr. in 1957, who preceded her in death on April 15th, 2013.

Violet was a homemaker that enjoyed being able to stay home and raise her kids. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her hobbies included working puzzles, word search, going out to eat, collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kendall McNeill and one grandson, Cade Viers.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Connolly (Cher Shaffer) of NC, Pam Mayhew (Mike) and Kimi Connolly (Jim Vincent) of Parkersburg and Melba Viers (Chris) of Lubeck. Grandchildren include Michele Mayhew, Jamie Mayhew, Mandi Caplinger (Josh), Hayden Viers, Danielle Viers and Brooke Connolly. Great-grandchildren are Lilli Connolly, Evelyn, Eden, Kingston Caplinger, and Braeden Giddings. Two sisters, Patricia Dooley (Charley) of FL and Margie Smith of Parkersburg, one brother Brad McNeill of NJ, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Her daughters wish to thank the staff of Eagle Pointe and Amedysis Hospice.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
