Wilmer was born June 19, 1927 a son of the late Wilmer and Jane Lamp of Parkersburg.
Wilmer retired from Monongahela Power after 43 years of service. He loved his family and his church. He was a member of The Church of God.
Wilmer is survived by two sons, Gary L. (Buzz) Lamp of Parkersburg and Paul David Lamp of Mineral Wells, two step-daughters, Carol Ann Alkire of Parkersburg and Karen Miller of Cottageville, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Wilmer was preceded in death by his wife Alma Hazel Lamp, son, Larry Michael Lamp, daughter, Mary Lou Rutherford and two grandchildren. Wilmer will be sadly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.sunsetparkersburg.com.
