He has gone on to join his beloved wife of sixty-five years, Win and his eldest son, Art. Kelly is survived by his sons, Jim (Kit), Bob (Camila), Michael (Sibel), his daughter, Susie (Cliff), ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Kelly was born in Narragansett, Rhode Island and moved to Vancouver after serving in the U.S. Navy during WW11. He met Win while attending the University of British Columbia.
Kelly was an accomplished multi-sport athlete. He coached many local teams and left his mark as the face of Olympic wrestling in British Columbia as a co-founder, coach and head referee for over 30 years. Kelly was also an avid outdoorsman and boater. He took his family on countless trips throughout BC. Kelly plied his trade as a marine importer for more than 45 years and was well respected in the boating community.
To his family though, he will always be remembered as an intelligent, gentle man who was a great husband, father and grandfather. We all will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, his family encourages donations to Covenant House Vancouver, 575 Drake Street Vancouver, BC V6B 4K8.
