Barbara passed away peacefully in the Hospice Unit at Trillium Lodge in Parksville after a short battle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 36 years, Melvin; his daughter, Darlene Marks (Jeff); grandsons, Eric Marks, Jeremy Kevis, Richard Kevis; brothers, Edward and Thomas Salt (Paula); uncle, Gerald; aunt, June; and numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family members. Barbara was predeceased by her brother, Stanley Howard and her stepson, Darrell Kevis.
A special thank you to Dr. Vander Weyde, staff and volunteers at Trillium Lodge for the compassionate care and kindness they showed Barb during her stay with them.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am at the Branch # 49 Mt Arrowsmith Legion, 146 Hirst Avenue in Parksville on Saturday January 16, 2016. Those wishing to honour Barb’s memory may do so by making a donation in her name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Unit E, 777 Poplar Street, Nanaimo, BC V9S 2H7.
