

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Darrell Sallenbach on April 22nd, 2025. Darrell died peacefully with loving and devoted family by his side.
Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Darrell grew up in the large and loving Sallenbach family with five siblings, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Grandparents Sallenbach and Olajos. To Darrell, family was everything and he spent his life guiding, protecting and providing for his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Martine, his Mother Mary, his three children Eden (Ben) Chad (Adrianne) and Morgan, his granddaughter Millie and siblings Brenda (Randy) Barry (Therese), Judy, Barbara and Rhonda (Bill). He is predeceased by his father Ronald Sallenbach.
Darrell had a technical brain with a quirky sense of humor. He loved science and problem solving and often entertained siblings and friends with creative games and unique inventions. Darrell recognized at a young age, the value of hard work and education. He studied Geophysics and Engineering Science at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, obtained a Bachelor Degree in Biological Engineering from the University of Guelph, Ontario and completed his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Alberta.
Darrell went on to have a successful career in Sales Engineering specializing in Technical Sales. He worked with KWH Pipe (Infra Pipes Inc.) for 20 years and retired in 2021. He was well regarded by colleagues and respected amongst the Professional Engineering community in BC and Alberta.
Many will know the love and devotion that Darrell shared with his Dachshund Sophie. The two were inseparable and are now undoubtedly reunited.
Darrell lived simply, walked humbly and loved genuinely. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man, good neighbour, friend and loving father.

The family invites you to attend a Service for Darrell at St. Mary’s Anglican Church 2600 Powder Point Rd, Nanoose Bay, BC V9P 9E8 on May 24th at 2:00pm.
