

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Doris Esther Sauder on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at her home in Parksville, BC, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was just days shy of her 50th birthday.
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Doris was known for her strong, confident personality and her quirky sense of humor. She lived a life marked by determination, hard work, and a passion for learning. Doris excelled in her career, starting as an esthetician before transitioning to aviation structures and ultimately finding her calling as a Certified Engineering Technologist in the field of civil engineering.
Doris was a woman of many talents and interests. She loved music, especially from the 80s and 90s, and had a passion for Victorian-era architecture. Her green thumb was evident in the beautiful roses she cultivated around her home. Doris also enjoyed aromatherapy, spa treatments, and had a soft spot for cats and rabbits.
Despite facing health challenges throughout her life, Doris maintained a positive outlook. She was known for her honesty, strong work ethic, and loyalty to her close friends and family. Doris was a person of personal faith who walked with God in her own way.
Doris is survived by her brother Jerry, who was her caregiver through her cancer journey. She was predeceased by her parents, Senon and Hulda Sauder.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 5th at 11:00 AM in the Prayer Chapel of Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church (550 Pym St, Parksville, BC). Following the service, interment took place at Yates Memorial Home (1000 Allsbrook Rd, Parksville, BC). True to her organized nature, Doris meticulously planned every detail of her own memorial service.
Doris will be remembered for her strength, her humor, and her unwavering spirit. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
