It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Arthur Adamson, who passed away suddenly on July 2nd, 2025, at the age of 76. Doug was born on May 20th, 1949, and lived a full life dedicated to his family, his work, and his passions.
Doug leaves behind his wife, Frances; his son, Paul; and his two nieces, Shelley and Cherie. He is also remembered fondly by his many friends and extended family, who were all touched by his warmth and generosity.
Throughout his life, Doug worked tirelessly on the water, spending many years with B.C. Ferries, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His love for the sea and ships was matched only by his love for the open road. Doug had a deep passion for Sprint Car Racing, a hobby that brought him immense joy and excitement. He spent countless hours traveling in his RV, attending races, and forming lasting memories, particularly in Skagit County, Washington, where he found a special community of fellow racing enthusiasts.
Doug’s presence in the lives of his loved ones will be sorely missed. He had a quiet strength, a kind heart, and a remarkable ability to make those around him feel loved and appreciated. While his family grieves his passing, they take comfort in knowing that Doug’s spirit will live on in the stories, the laughter, and the memories he leaves behind.
Doug is sadly missed but will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Doug's memory.
