You are invited to join us spiritually in celebrating Ed's life here on earth and forever In Jesus Christ!
Edwin was born in a log house in Niton Alberta to Wanda and Stanley Radulski on July 2, 1934. His early life was spent attending school in a one-room school house, working on the family farm and fishing in the Lobstick River. Edwin was the youngest of 6 siblings: Sophie, Walter, Val, Vicki and Stan Jr.
Edwin attended Evansburg High School. The family farm was sold in 1952 and Ed moved to Edmonton with his parents. Ed worked at the Hudson’s Bay then became a meteorologist in 1956 in Grand Prairie. He decided to move back to Edmonton and become a car-man apprentice for the CNR. Ed decided this was not the career for him so he applied and was accepted as a recruit with the Edmonton City Police.
Ed met Bernie Donahue on April 2, 1958. They were engaged on June 26, 1958 after receiving her Father’s permission. They were married 3 months later on September 13, 1958.
Ed an Bernie honeymooned in Northern California with Ed’s brother Stan and wife Anna. They set up their first home in Edmonton and welcomed a son, Wayne Edwin, who arrived on March 28, 1960. They liked California and made plans to relocate. Before they left, their daughter arrived, Wendy Eve-Bernadette on February 16, 1965. They moved in May 1965 to Sacramento and Ed started a new career in finance. They lived in the USA for 5 years and returned to British Columbia Canada in 1970. After a short time in Surrey, they moved to Squamish where Ed was Manager of the Squamish Credit Union till March 1974. Ed & Bernie wanted to return to Edmonton to be closer to family so Ed accepted a position with the Morinville Credit Union.
Ed transferred to Calgary Coop Credit Union in 1976 where was Manager of the Forest Lawn Branch. He left to join the City of Calgary Finance Department in 1977 where he worked in the field of Data Processing at the beginning of the computer revolution. After 23 years of service for the City of Calgary Ed retired in 1990.
He and Bernie welcomed his first Grandson, son of Wayne, Brandon, in 1994. They left Calgary to build their dream home in Parksville where Ed created a beautiful property with Bernie with many fruit trees and abundant vegetable garden and flowers. Bernie and Ed loved to spend time country-western dancing, walking on the beach collecting shells and attending church. Ed & Bernie welcomed two more grandchildren, Lauren Rae , daughter of Wayne and Connor Milne , son of Wendy, in 2000 and 2002.
Ed lived with Bernie in Parksville for 22 years together, loving life and each other. Ed was deeply committed to his faith in his Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ and read the Bible daily.
