Our beloved Bruce passed away in Nanaimo Regional Hospital following a prolonged period of medical challenges. He was born in a small cottage hospital in Kincaid, Saskatchewan to Mary and Albert Terry. The family moved several times and at one point lived in Melfort, Saskatchewan. It was here while going to school that he met the love of his life, Carol. After graduation, they went their separate ways for 25 years, when they found each other again. Three years later they married and their love story carried on as though they had never been apart. Bruce worked as a draftsman in Vancouver and was the drafting co-ordinator for BC Place when it was first built. He and Carol then moved to Parksville where they raised Champion Chinchillas and achieved Master Breeder status at the Canadian National Chinchilla Show in 1988. They then retired to Port Alberni in 1996. Bruce was well known and loved as Santa by scores of children over a period of 18 years. He was a dedicated member of Manoah Lodge AF & AM, Royal Arch Masons, Cryptic Rite Masons, Scottish Rite Masons, Ghizeh Temple Shriners and a charter member of Alberni Chapter # 100 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Bruce was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his loving wife Carol, his sister Patricia Austin of Saskatoon, brother-in-law Joe Konopelski, sister-in-law Jean Thomsen, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jack & Joan Thomsen, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
