With great sadness we announce that George lost his short, but vicious battle with cancer on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Ty Watson House in Port Alberni surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
George is survived by his wife, Anna; children, Andrea and Dan; grandchildren, Caridee and Alexia; siblings, Ann, Linda, and Bill; father, William ( Arlene Jackson); as well as many extended family members and a shit tonne of friends all across the country. He was predeceased by his mother, Violet.
George was passionate about keeping active and physically fit. He ran many, many marathons, played numerous sports such as football, hockey, baseball, and squash.
He served others his whole life as evidenced by two lengthy careers; first as an RCMP officer and then as a driver for BC Transit. He was the kind of man that tried to put others at ease, mostly with laughter. Everyone knew when George was in the room - his energy and laughter were infectious.
He will be greatly missed.
